I don't know how other states work this but in Florida no municipality can have ordinances that attempt to override State law. This is particularly good for gun rights as many cities like Chicago and NYC have their own set of laws. As a concealed carry holder in New York State in the 1980's I was unable to carry in NYC the few times we went to visit. It's an arcane, almost feudal, system. Waimea Link to comment
