Subdeacon Joe
http://www.examiner.com/article/wash-state-bill-would-make-almost-all-gun-owners-criminals The bill, S.B. 5737, proposes "banning the sale of assault weapons." According to the legislation, an "assault weapon"is any semiautomatic pistol, pump-action rifle or shotgun that canaccept a detachable magazine, with the capacity to accept more than 10rounds. Any magazine that accepts over 10 rounds itself will also bebanned. Also included in the definition is any rifle or shotgun with a pistolgrip, a stock of any kind, a muzzle brake or muzzle compensator. Thebill also prohibits the manufacturing, possessing, purchasing, sellingor transferring of an assault weapons "conversion kit." In order to continue to possess a so-called assault weapon that wasowned before the assumed passing of the legislation, the person must"safely and securely" store the assault weapon and allow the sheriff ofthe county to, no more than once per year, conduct an inspection to"ensure compliance," despite some apparent civil liberties implicationsrelated to the Fourth Amendment. Yeah, how are they going to get past that pesky "unreasonable search and seizure" thing? But, fire up those emails, get the phone lines hot. Link to comment

And they talk about not wanting a complete ban!?! CAS, trapshooters and hunters who believe the "reasonable restrictions" are OK because they havent't listed you guns. You need to listen up, its not just our "AR-15s", its your guns to, maybe-maybe not right now, but sooner or later. If they get their foot in the door they'll be no stopping them! JEL Link to comment
