I used his 1851 negotiated in a recent trade to achieve second place Frontiersman at Oakwood. Also Fg Skirmish Powder works jest fine in a cap gun. I am wondering if it ain't about the same quality as "back in the day" black powder. Also shot my 44 some. I think it is okay to shoot Pyrodex Pellets before you shoot black powder through yo piece. Kind of like beer before whiskey never risky. Whiskey before beer, never fear. Shooting Pellets second don't work so good. I have had good luck with them in the past. Jest don't crush the pellet.
