Douglas A-26 Invader. Later designated B-26

I have two models of the A-26 sitting on my shelf waiting for me to build them. One will be done in WWII livery. The second I am still trying to decide whether to build as a Vietnam era B-26K Counter Invader, or as a fire fighting air tanker.

There is a Counter Invader at the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB

Nice shots of them as fire bombers in the movie "Always".

(which also includes Holly Hunter in what is possibly the best dress ever filmed)

Some were converted in the 60's to executive transport aircraft, fastest thing around in those days, pre learjet. Company was called On Mark.

Cavalier did the same thing to the p-51 mustang in the 60's, stripped all the military equipment installed leather interiors added tip tanks, to be fast executive transportation. Just the opposite of what they are doing today, which is restoring them to as issued configuration.
