Charlie Bison
I am selling my pride and joy, a Turnbull Mfg. Limited Winchester 1886. This is a 45-70 with a 22 inch barrel and steel shotgun butt plate. Turnbull Manufacturing removed the tang safety, taking this rifle back to a half-cock notch safety as it was originally designed. The actual conversion process is very labor-intensive, consisting of weld/polish work to the hammer, tang, as well as a firing pin conversion. The hammer is finished in Turnbull’s period-correct Color Case Hardening. The rear sight is Doug Turnbull’s modified “flat top” style and the front sight is a 1/16” diameter brass bead Marble. These are the same sights they use on our Turnbull Manufacturing Company .475 Turnbull rifles. You will never see a rifle from this from the good folks at Turnbull at such a good price. The pictures do not do it justice! All Turnbull and Winchester paperwork/box will be sent with rifle. If you were to have this done with a new 1886, everything would cost you over $2000. Asking $1510+shipping http://s162.beta.photobucket.com/user/charliebison/library/1886%20short
