Charlie MacNeil, SASS #48580 Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Yep! Finally went back to wet shaving about a year ago. Got a Marvy green rubber shaving mug, a decent badger bristle brush, and a half dozen packs of Williams shaving soap, three of Col. Conk's (don't bother), and one of Van Der Hagen (best of the breed) to go with my double edged razor and 30 packs of Wilkinson Sword blades. I figure I'll have to buy soap every year or so and blades about every two, and I'll be good damn near forever. Don't need it for shaving, but I picked up three brands of bay rum aftershave: Dominica, Clubman Virgin Island, and Lucky Tiger. Got one of Ogallala coming, too. So far I'm out of pocket about 80 bucks (not counting the bay rum and the razor itself) and most of it is not going to have to be replaced anytime soon. I don't have many personal luxuries any more, but a good wet shave is well worth the bother and fuss. +1! Been shaving with antique "safety" razors for several years now. Most comfortablest shave I've ever had, and relatively cheap. I bought a hundred each of a couple of different blades at the time, and I'm still working on those. Buy my shave soap from Mama Bear Soaps about twice a year.
Grumpy Old Man Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 :o/>/> :blush:/>/> I think you should have used a comma after "shave." That would have read much better. They aren't too bad. I even use one on my armpits. :blush:/>/> See how my SASS Wire "skin thickening exercises" have helped me. Now, that sounds painful. However, one day at my hairdressers, there was a man next to me getting his ears and nose waxed. :wacko:/>/>
Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217 Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Hi Grumpy! I hate to be a stickler on grammer here. The first time I read it, I took it wrong. Duh me! Then I figured out what you really meant. Regards, Allie Mo
