Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Oh my! Notre Dame was not suppose to win? They don't belong in the top five. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I guess we showed them, eh Tanner?

Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Some interesting upsets today. Some pretty big scores and some pretty close games. Kind of a potpourri

Captain Bill Burt
Alabama +1 Kansas State+1 Oklahoma-1 Florida-1 Well, when you're wrong best admit it, move on....and hope nobody notices. I definitely didn't mind being wrong on Florida, but ND surprised me, their defense looked really good. I would love an Alabama Notre Dame matchup for all the marbles. Hopefully USC falls out of the top 25, how many times do you have to be exposed before folks notice?
Oklahomabound
Let's see how the fearless future picks fared this week: I'll take the following: #4 Kansas State - yep! #1 Alabama - yep! #8 OU - what's a ND? anyway? ...guess OU was outplayed & outcoached! #3 Florida - yep! plus #21 Cincinnati @ #16 Louisville - #16 Louisville - yep! #23 TCU @ OSU - OSU - YES! (maybe OSU will go up a bit and maybe get in the #28 spot or so.)
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Kansas State looks like the real McCoy also. I have come to the conclusion that the teams in the SEC don't like each other. That Jawja/Florida game was sloppy but it was also ugly. Waaaaay too many penalties. Notra Dame restored my faith this year. AND SLIPPERY ROCK WON! Having said that, I probably put the jinx on all of them. Be interesting to see how the polls come out today. Not much question that Bama is #1, when you take all the hype away, but I do not think Florida belongs in the top 5 when you have teams like Kansas State, Ohio State and ND in the mix. The SEC is good but they are not the only conference in the game.
Okie Sawbones, SASS #77381
How the Top 10 Fared #1 Alabama crushed undefeated #13 Mississippi – Not a big surprise #2 Oregon humiliated Colorado – Expected #3 Florida got whipped by #12 Georgia – Surprised me #4 K-State rolled over #15 Texas Tech – Thought it would be a closer game #5 Notre Dame flat outplayed #8 OU – Surprised me #6 LSU – Idle #7 Oregon State got beat by unranked Washington – Big surprise #8 OU – already discussed #9 Ohio State outlasted unranked Penn State – Expected #10 USC got bested by unranked Arizona – A mild surprise So #3, #7, #8, and #10 got their hat handed to them. Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
WOW, the BCS poll sure has changed things around. Not sure that I agree with the top five, but most of it is correct.. Alabama #1 OK Kansas State #2 OK Notre Dame #3 ?? Oregon #4 ?? LSU #5 ?? Calico Mary
Well, you hafta admit that Oregon's last win, despite the score, was not really that impressive considering who they humiliated.....

Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Well, you hafta admit that Oregon's last win, despite the score, was not really that impressive considering who they humiliated..... Yeahbut, Oregon has played some other very good teams and came out on top, usually by a goodly margin. No I have no problem with them being in the top 5 ...expected the OU drop after their dismal performance... ...but look at BCS ranking of OSU at 24th... OKB, I have never been able to figure how the BCS figures the rankings.
Okie Sawbones, SASS #77381
I'm not surprised to see K-State #2 on the BCS and #3 on the AP. The press doesn't want K-State in the #2 slot.
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
I am wondering why the BCS does not rank Ohio State above LSU? OHS seems to be hard to find in the top rankings. Why is that?
Captain Bill Burt
Cause they're not eligible to play in a bowl.
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
True, but that does not alter their record. Put an astrix (*) behind their name if it makes a difference.
Swifty Morgan
Maybe the BCS rules change on a whim??? It's my ball and I'll take it and go play somewhere else if you don't like it...
Captain Bill Burt
I have no interest in defending the BCS, I've never liked it, but its purpose is ostensiblity to indicate who should be playing in what bowl, so if they put Ohio State in there they would need to show the top 26, right? It doesn't much matter to me though, Ohio is on the short list of teams that I neither like or dislike and so don't have much interest in.
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Well, I guess that in the scheme of things that matter, it is a very minor issue. I guess the larger issue is why do schools find themselves in such positions. Bailing players out of jail to play and coaches doing unethical things do not lend a good image to our yout.
