FWIW, I shoot a Codymatic 1873 in .38/.357, I use 125 gr. RNFP (they DO make them) from River Rat Randy here in North Carolina, I seat and crimp them right in the groove with a Lee Factory Crimp Die, and I have never had a problem with feeding. I have heard Marlins can be finicky, but don't know it to be a fact. If you're interested, send me a PM and I can give you both my rifle and pistol loads, length, powder, etc.

On another note, years ago I had a 1969 Z-28 Camaro, which I was a fool to ever sell, and went to a local parts store to get an air filter. The parts guy, who I knew pretty well, insisted Chevy never made a 302CID engine and I was confusing it with a Ford 302. He pretty much refused to even look it up. So I went down the street, bought the air filter, brought it back to him and showed him the label on the filter box that showed what it fit, and oddly enough, a 302CID Chevy engine was listed there!
