Rye Miles #13621
Tony Bennett did alright with God Bless America, at the 7th inning stretch. He made me feel right proud to be an American. Baseball, hot dogs and the American Spirit, all go together in my book. I sure would like to see Detroit put NY away for the season. Send those rich boys home until spring training. It'll be just a little bit easier for the Tigers since Jeter's out! rye
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
It ain't easy for the Cardinals tho. At least not tonight. 7 to 1 top of the 9th. But I kinda figured that. Back to St. Louis for the next one.

Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Even though they lost last night, I was impressed with the bull pen for SF. Looks like the pitching caught up with the Cards tonight.

Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
And Jeter out for the season. When it rains, it pours. Just wondering what the RED BIRDS are gonna do today. The bats were awfully quiet the last game.
Lefty Stone
The Tiger's pitching, and the Yankees in-ability to hit anything, has made this series fun for Tiger's fans. If the Yankees are going to win one, it will be tonight. Either way, this wont go back to NYC unless this is a 2-2-1-1-1 series vs a 2-3-2 series. Okie Sawbones, SASS #77381
Cards jumped ahead 2-1, but found themselves in a couple of jams, which they squeaked out of -- Giants have stranded six through the fourth inning.

Okie Sawbones, SASS #77381
Top of the 9th Tigers up 8 to 1. Not looking good for the Yankees...... The biggest comeback in a game in the ninth played on 5/23/1901. Cleveland was losing 13-5 in the bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, no one on base. They then scored 9 runs to win the game 14-13. Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Well, they have to play the games to see who win. But that said, it looks pretty much like the Cards and the Tigers. As soon as I say that, I guess I will put a jinx on the Red Birds. But I would much rather see Detroit in the World Series than the Yankees. I personally feel that they bought the thing for too many years. Yes, they have a lot of talent, but they got it from all of the other clubs in the game. From what I see of the St. Louis team, they play a lot of small ball. Lots of hits and some rather good pitching is always a good combination in a baseball team. Besides, if I didn't cheer for the St. Louis team, my Grandmother would send locust to eat my crops.
