Clemsum
I have put Super Blackhawk hammers to my large frame Vaqueros and I am interested in having a half cock notch added to them. During a recent rainy day local match my thumb slipped off the hammer twice and I had to go around the cylinder to the unfired round. I like the SBH hammers and do not want to go to a "4 click" setup right now. Can this be done by sending only the hammer to a gunsmith or does the entire revolver have to be shipped in for the work? Has anyone else had this done and who would you recommend? Thanks Clemsum

Buckshot Frank
I just had Roughneck Rod add a half cock notch to my NMVs. I had him remove the transfer bars at the same time, but he can add the notch while keeping the transfer bars if that is what you prefer. I would guess that anybody doing the work is going to want the entire guns though for fitting reasons. Your other option is to buy the Power Custom hammers and install yourself. Lefty Stone
Jimmy Spurs does this work also. I plan on having mine modified once this season is over http://cowboygunworks.com/
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
Usually when you add a half cock to the hammer you also have to modify the trigger.
