Irish Tom
A friend of mine recently purchased an old German made rifle. It is marked JGH Karabiner. It is chambered in something called 6mm Glatt. I have found some info on the gun and round, but my real question is where might a person find such ammo? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Red Logan #12252
Is it a smooth bore rim fire????
Irish Tom
Hey Red. I know that Glatt is German for smooth, so the gun may very well be a smooth bore. It did come with one round of ammo. It is a rim fire and appears to made of copper, as many were early on. It has a pointed lead bullet, about the size of a 22. The cartridge is very short, resembling a 22 CB Cap. That's about all I know except that from what I have read, the ammo has not been made for years. I was actually hoping that some of the SASS Pards that live in Germany might see this and be able to help. Irish Tom
