H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619
Anybody out there have an original Remington 1858 that has been factory converted to fire cartidges? If so, do you shoot it? A fellow I know wants to get rid of one, it was his father's, becuase he doesn't like guns. He doesn't even want any money for it, he just wants it gone. Needless to say, it will soon be in my safe. But I am wondering if it is okay to shoot these things. It was originally a .36 caliber one, so I am assuming the conversion is .38 Long Colt, or maybe Short.
Train Robber 13659
Well........I'm sorta close on this . I have a pocket 31 factory converted to 32 rimfire that I shoot on occassion .It likes all the original 32 rimfire I've tried but the Navy arms stuff has a slightly thinner rim profile and is not at all reliable . I might tig on a bit on to the hammer contact surface if I live long enough Train Robber
