What is the difference?

Often wondered what the difference is..................

Friend, a pal, an acquaintance, a buddy, a pard, a sidekick.

????????

For me the order is from closest to farthest.... Sidekick, Friend/Pard/Pal (either one), and then acquaintence....

An acquaintance is somebody you know in passing and who you may or may not like.:unsure:;)

My wife, Shafty Lady, always says to me,

"Friends are friends and pals are pals, but buddies sleep together"...

So....I'm very, very careful who I call buddy!

10-4 good buddy...:D

I don't know the difference. I alienate everybody, without discrimination.

I ain't got no friends. I guess I am kinda like Doc Holliday in Tombstone.

You ought to try and be me.

Then if you throw "partner" into the mix... Two babes show up to a party, arm in arm, and one introduces the other as her "partner"????? I don't want to go there.

A pal helps you get into trouble.

A pard will bail you out of jail.

And a friend is sitting in jail next you sayin' "Damn that was fun!"

That's it! We have a winner!

I am very careful to specify "Business Partner". (I have enough trouble getting dates as it is.)

Friend - someone with whom you share mutual likes and dislikes. You get along well together and enjoy each others company. Also talk about the joys and sorrows of life, help them if needed.

A pal - someone you hang out with, have good times. Don't necessarily have deep and meaningfuls with.

An Acquaintance - someone you know in passing, exchange an occasional pleasantry with. May or may not know his name.

A buddy - kind of a cross between a pal and a friend.

A sidekick - someone you get into and out of trouble with. Then you have a beer and laugh about it.

A pard - you share the last of your water and hardtack with.

And I've heard that a very good friend will help you bury the bodies.
