Come On Christmas Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 http://www.rossiusa.com/product-list.cfm?category=14 Other than the folk who would kick sand in yo face for not spending $1500 for an authentic long range rifle. Would the wood version in 45/70 be okay with the Plainsman rules? Shameless
Buffalo Dick, SASS #12880 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Well, the Contender isn't legal so I doubt the Rossi would be. Neither is a replica of a 19th century rifle. BUT, it looks like the Rossi's action is more like the H&R, so who knows.
Noz Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Single shot? Exposed Hammer? Top break action? Why not?
Come On Christmas Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 That's what I was thinking Noz. And I could buy a Muzzleloader barrel for grins. Shameless
Garrison Joe, SASS #60708 Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Wow, they don't know anything about making stocks for hard-kicking rifles! That monte carlo cheek piece would kick your side teeth all the way down your throat, having that steep and wrong-way slant on the comb. Good luck, GJ
PaleWolf Brunelle, #2495L Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 http://www.rossiusa.com/product-list.cfm?category=14 Other than the folk who would kick sand in yo face for not spending $1500 for an authentic long range rifle. Would the wood version in 45/70 be okay with the Plainsman rules? NOT "as is". Shameless Considering that a number of features of that rifle are NOT "SASS LEGAL" for Plainsman/Long Range sidematches (and the expense to make it so)...you might be better off to look for a H&R/NEF single-shot instead. IMO.
Throckmorton,23149 Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 I bought a Wizard in .223 a llittle over a year ago.. in the 1st 40 shots ,the transfer bar broke. ;( back to the factory. a few months later ,s omething else broke,so..back to the factory. I can't get it to group worth a darn with facory ammo or reloads, been trying eve since it was new to shoot groups.. It patterns well tho. Grrr IMHO, BUY SOMETHING ELSE...ANYTHING ELSE !
