Smoken D
On the afternoon of August 7, 2007 members of KCPD SCU TAC were involved in a gun battle involving officers attempting to apprehend known gang members. As officers approached the vehicle one occupant began firing from behind dark window tint. Officer Paul Clark was struck three times in his right leg and buttock. A fourth bullet struck Officer Clark in the back just above his vest lodging against his spinal cord causing instant paralysis. Other officers/detectives returned gun fire, apprehended all three suspects, and rushed Officer Clark to the hospital. Officer Clark continues his spinal rehabilitation and has shown immense courage to all. His perseverance has been both mental and physical. He continues his rehabilitation to this day. He is truly an inspiration to all.
