A Year Ago Today

Recommended Posts

One year ago today a friend of mine's son stepped on a mine in Afghanistan.

One year and nine surgeries later he's won the 2012 Boston Marathon in the handcycle division; he won the 2012 Warior Games race in handcycle division; he won the 2012 Disney half-marathon in the handcycle division; and was also on the team that beat the Marines in sitting volleyball at the Warrior Games.

Much of his recovery and progress can be attributed to ...

Happy Alive Day, Bill.

Does SASS or local clubs make allowances or access for Wounded Warriors or others who have physical disabilities to participate in matches? Seems like making room for Wounded Warriors and others with disabilities would be in keeping with the "cowboy way".

Wounded Warrior becomes Pro Shooter

"A Shooting USA Profile of the former Blackhawk Pilot, paralyzed by a crash in Afghanistan, who is now opening the shooting sports to the handicapped and wounded warriors. Trevor Baucom is the first sponsored pro shooter in a wheelchair, and is the reason major shooting organizations are putting out the welcome mat and working to make their matches handicapped capable."

Yes, it's a 30 minute video. But it's a really good 30 minute video.

The Oregon State Match this year had a Wounded Warrior Cat. for those who have health issues that

have been caused by military service. The "Merlin Marauders" are always trying to be sensitive to the

needs of the shooters...
