Joe Boy SASS#29271
New Mexico has resceinded CHL reciprocity with Texas and several other states. So if you are from Texas and you are going to New Mexico do not carry concealed. Check with the NM DPS on how to transport your guns.

Garrison Joe, SASS #60708
Ho Humm. Just another unresearched old (was-gonna-be-law-or-policy) rumor posted on the wire. Can you folks at least check with some other folks before you post old unsubstantiated gun banning "news". There's enough gun grabbing stuff to watch out for when we all just stick to the real laws. Good luck, GJ

Fast Hammer, #60707
Joe Boy Before you open your mouth and insert your foot again NM has some of the best gun carry laws in the country. If you don’t have concealed carry licenses then just tuck your shirt in and open carry. Here in New Mexico your car, truck, motorcycle are an extension of your home so if you want to have a loaded pistol in your lap between the seats in the sun visor that ok. So please GET OFF YOUR EOT BASHING WAR HORSE. Because the people that decided to come and play are going to have a great time shooting and visiting with old & new friends even without you. I called new mexico dps and was told that thier reciprocity was under review to see if other Saates meet new mex. high standards TEXAS DOES NOT MEET new mex. standards .TEXAS does let active duty miltary get their CHL at 18 years old or older . You, do not have to live in Texas to get a Texas CHL .So at what time is the fine state of new mex.going to change their minds ??????? CHECK WITH nm dps ON HOW TO TRANSPORT YOUR GUNS. Garrison Joe, SASS #60708
There is NO problem with transport of firearms in NM. Same laws on the books right now as there has been for many years. Just because one Secretary of a NM state department got jumpy and started shooting mouth off does not mean anything has passed in the state house. Yes, they are reviewing how other states requirements stack up against NMs requirements. We will find out if they feel that they have to set any new laws in place. Right now, same old, same old. You can open carry a loaded gun in your car for protection, you can carry unloaded guns in your car. Just don't waltz into most liquor stores, govt offices or schools with a gun - loaded or not. Be safe, don't worry, be happy. NM is still the same BR it has been for years. Good luck, GJ
