Wrangler Jones, SASS # 64178
I don't recall any photos or mention of him carrying one. I'm sure he must have as an officer in the Mexican war.
Goody, SASS #26190
I believe the only times he fired it were to start the cockroach races.
Tom Bullweed
Captain Lee did carry a Colt (probably a Dragoon) during the Vera Cruz to Mexico City advance in the Mexican War. He was awarded several medals and a brevet promotion for scouting around the Mex army when blocked a landing at Verz Cruz and when they blocked the roads west of Vera Cruz. He was also known to carry during the 1850's when he was assigned by then Secretary of the Army Jeff Davis to scout the areas around coastal batteries in the south. Colonel Lee led the ad hoc army group when John Brown overtook the US arsenal at Harper's Ferry. I have never seen a photo of him with a sidearm, but there are numerous reports of him having a Colt 1851 in his tent.
