StoneyMike
I have an early "C" model Winchester 1897 Take down model with the 3 screw forearm pump. The original wood finally gave up two years ago after a long hard life. I have been using reproduction wood but they don't seem to hold up very long, less than a year. I have heard that I could use a later model action slide from an "E" model. Is this true? If it is I need all the parts necessary to make this swap happen. Is there anyone out there who can help me is SASS land? I can do cash or trade depending on what you are after. If anyone can help please let me know. Thanks in advance. Mike. Jacknife
Look at Boyds Gunstocks, they have new forends for yours for 46 dollars. Don't see why ya can't swap for a later model, slide and all.

StoneyMike
I couldn't be happier! The Brisco Kid came through for me. The parts he had even matched the finish and wood on my 100+ year old gun. I can't wait to get her to the range. Thanks Pard. If any cowboy out there need something, Try Cowboy Shooters Supply, you'll be happy. He'll treat you right. Thanks to all who responded. Mike.
