Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Nuthing new here, Gunner. The left coast has been dealing with things from Japan for a very long time. There are the glass fishing floats that came ashore at one time, but not so much anymore since they went to alternative float material, Fire bombs during WW II that killed a family down in Oregon, and Toyota, Sony, and Toshiba products that pretty much killed factory jobs in the mid west. But things are turning around here. We are now shipping empty container ships west to China rather than Japan, so they can be filled with good to sell to the Yankees. Japan is left to export via the ocean currents.
Quick Draw Granpaw #48525
The Tsunami of 1957 hit Cresent City, Ca. If your ever in the area the photos taken of the aftermath show the strength of "Mother Nature". The Corp of engineers built a very secure "Jetty" to direct the ocean away from the Town, it even has sensors built into the structure to show any movement. Very interesting. Happy trails QDG
