Ned Buckshot, SASS #2901
I was doing a little research some time back and much to my amazement, Ken Curtis AKA "Festus" was a member of the Sons of the Pioneers as well as a singer with the Tommy Dorsey big band! The things you can find out while wasting time on the internet!

Ken Curtis did more than "Festus". JHC

Alpo
For that matter, in Rio Grande, where the "company singers" came and serenaded Maureen O'Hara, with "I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen", that was Ken Curtis singing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v517yhi3yms
Fast Tracker
There is an article about the Sons of the Pioneers in the latest True West Magazine. The "new" Sons of the Pioneers were playing in Branson, MO about a year ago. They still have the same sound and harmony.

Dusty Morningwood
Here is a different one from SOP. My favorite line is: "I hold these truths to be self evident that all men may be cremated equal." Believe it or not, the House Un-American Activities Committee pressured performers and radio stations not to play this song as it was "subversive." ROTFLMAO
