Professor Tull, SASS #66742 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 About an hour and a half to the new season in case anybody has forgotten. And please do not post spoilers until the 'left' coast has had a chance to watch it. Tull Quote

Dirty Redd Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Question: Does anyone think , Boyd got himself locked up so he could get to Dickie for shooting Ava ? Just curious. Redd Quote

Noz Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I've been listening to you all jabber about this show for months. I set the DVR so I wouldn't miss it. It cam on and I'm glad I had the recorder set because I lasted about 20 minutes and went to sleep. Quote

I have seasons 1 and 2 on DVD, whenever you want to play catch-up "...sorry about your tablecloth..." Quote
The O'Meara Himself Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Personally, I am a fan - never miss an episode. But the ice pick trick - I'd grab the gun as soon as he set it down, at least before the countdown hit four. Otherwise its just macho game-playing. The O'Meara Himself Quote
Utah Bob #35998 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I've been listening to you all jabber about this show for months. I set the DVR so I wouldn't miss it. It cam on and I'm glad I had the recorder set because I lasted about 20 minutes and went to sleep. Watching it at this late point wouldn't be a good idea. There's been a lot of water under the bridge before now. I suggest you take J-bar up on his offer and watch the premier episode. I think it's one of the best show around....but that's just me. Quote
Utah Bob #35998 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Personally, I am a fan - never miss an episode. But the ice pick trick - I'd grab the gun as soon as he set it down, at least before the countdown hit four. Otherwise its just macho game-playing. The O'Meara Himself When he did that to the first guy I was hollering, "PICK IT UP NOW" as soon as the bad guy put it on the desk and started to lean back. Raylan's trick was pretty cool though. I thought maybe he'd swat it over to Wynona and she'd blast away. "Sorry about the tablecloth" Quote
Utah Bob #35998 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I was going to ceremoniously crack the seal on my fresh bottle of Makers Mark....but my wife had already done that! It seems she prefers it to her Irish now. Quote
Grizzly Dave Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Never ssen the show, so in a nutshell, what is it about? Quote

Utah Bob #35998 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Question: Does anyone think , Boyd got himself locked up so he could get to Dickie for shooting Ava ? Just curious. Redd No question. I thought his attack on Raylan was a little out of character. Turns out it wasn't at all. Quote
Professor Tull, SASS #66742 Posted January 19, 2012 Author Posted January 19, 2012 No question. I thought his attack on Raylan was a little out of character. Turns out it wasn't at all. Well planned. Well executed. With a single-minded purpose. Would not want to be Dickie. Boyd Crowder is one of Justified's high water marks. Tull Quote
Bama Red Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 I bet that's Dickie's thinking!! Dickie's gonna wish he had a nickle-silver alloy swivel in his neck so he can keep an eye on Boyd. Quote

Chili Pepper Kid, SASS #60463 Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 That was sooo cool!!! I've decided to read the books by Elmore Leonard. I think the order of books is: 1) Pronto 2) Riding The Rap 3) Raylan. (which was just released) Has anybody else read the books? CPK Quote
Dirty Redd Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 A word of caution, stay outta Ava's kitchen. lol Quote

CPK I believe you are correct on the order of the books, but I have not read them yet. Also, according to IMDB, the TV series is base on the Elmore Leonard short story "Fire in The Hole". Quote
Grouchy Greg, SASS#71981 Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 I wish they would re-run last week's episode, 'cause I missed it. Quote

They kinda use the books for show ideas... entertaining reads though. I've been reading non-fiction, autos, and Jim Harrison and thought the Elmore books would be a good break before digging into another Clancy. Quote
Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619 Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Man, Elmore Leonard is the best; amazing he is still going strong in his late '80s. I don't think anybody has more books made into movies or TV than him. In my opinion, he is the best Western writer around, and he quit writing Westerns decades ago. I read about Justified here on the wire and couldn't find the first season, rented and watched the second season; great show! That Raylan just don't ever seem to lose his cool, not even when somebody's got the drop on him! Quote
Boondock Saint, #70146 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Is it just me or does his hat seem to be a bit different this season? The brim seems to be flatter with less roll on the sides. Quote
Utah Bob #35998 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Is it just me or does his hat seem to be a bit different this season? The brim seems to be flatter with less roll on the sides. That's the way he had it in season one. Then it developed a roll in season 2. Now it's back to the original. I like the rolled brim better. Quote
Professor Tull, SASS #66742 Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 I wish they would re-run last week's episode, 'cause I missed it. G. G. - FX will show the latest episode tomorrow night at 9[cst], then repeat it at 10[cst], and then will rerun last weeks episode at 11[cst], and then the latest episode at midnight. If you miss it and still have a VCR, drop me a pm and I'll tape both of them for you. Tull Quote
Bama Red Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Anybody been tracking the body count this season? Boy, howdy, I just watched the Jan. 24th, 31st and Feb. 7th episodes, one after another. They's a whole lot o' killin' goin in this year - mostly just straight forward killin's - nothing fancy. I had missed these episodes due to being doped silly in the hospital, so I decided to watch them all together tonight. Wow! Can't wait for the rest of the season! Quote
Dirty Redd Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I am confused, did dickie shoot mr limehouse and partner or what? I know when Raylan pulled up to the store there was shoots fired , but dickie had a supposed empty shotgun. Did i miss something ? Quote

I know when Raylan pulled up to the store there was shoots fired , but dickie had a supposed empty shotgun. Did i miss something ? Limehouse walked out. I expect we haven't seen the last of him. Exactly what the shots were I can't say. Maybe Dickie put a couple more rounds into his already dead tormentors. Limehouse's man just shucked them out on the floor to make sure Dickie didn't shoot them as they left. Dickie loaded up and shot as Raylan pulled up.. But why? Good episode. Quote
Dirty Redd Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Good question UB , as they say more will be revealed. Quote
Deacon Will Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 One of the bad guys had a shotgun that he dropped when shot... it was left on the floor. LOADED? Quote
