Subdeacon Joe
oh you can bet that there was a pound of sausage in that gravy! I helped get it started, then got out of the way. Sounds pretty good, Grizz, although I prefer the sausage cooked as patties, then the gravy made with the drippings. Don't care for chunky gravy. My bride does though. That is one of the things that almost caused a fight between me an my bride a fair number of years ago. I was feeling poorly and asked her to make up some biscuits, sausage and gravy, and scrambled eggs. A bit later she said it was ready. Got my eggs, got my biscuits, put some gravy on them. Asked where the sausage was. "In the gravy!" she said. She'd taken the whole two pounds of sausage, fried it up and kept chopping it up as she cooked it and made the gravy on top of it. And there I was, waiting for a couple of nice big sausage patties along with the eggs, maybe one patty put on a split biscuit, and some biscuits smothered in a smooth gravy. I ate. Then went to the store and got more sausage and fried up patties. Other thing that came close to being a fight was when I asked her to make up some cornmeal pancakes. She made pancakes and added a can of creamed corn.

Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
A long time ago and in a different lifetime, I went on a fishing trip with seven other fellows up into the Canadian North Woods. Land of Sergeant Preston and his dog King. We packed in all out ets for the week we would be there. One fellow brought four dozen biscuits and a gallon of sausage gravy. It didn't last all that long. Just think of it, a week to eat, drink, play cards, fish and sleep. How much closer to heaven can you get here on earth.
