Hitched

As the prairie needs rain

for the sweetgrass to grow

And the mountains are best

when they’re fresh capped with snow.

As a ranch needs a ranch house

with a welcoming fire

And the Eagle needs sky

so his soul can fly higher.

As the stream needs the rocks

to help it make laughter

And a man needs his faith

in the golden hereafter

As the pines need the wind

as they reach for the sun

And we all need a sunset

when a long day is done

In this world full of struggle

with an uncertain end

A heart needs a tender

and true loving friend

In a moment I knew that

the most perfect life

Would see me as your husband

and you as my wife

Now we stand here and gaze

deep each other’s eyes

Knowing love will endure

like the blue western skies

Through the good years to come

and the bad ones as well

We will stand for each other

through Heaven or Hell

Take my hand then and know

that our hearts are now one

And we’ll live free and happy

in the warm western sun

[/b]

Congrats, Bob!

I'm the same era; bride and I have 44 years in.

Time flies, don't it? The weird thing now is when I look at the wedding pics, I see parents-- both hers and mine-- who are the ages of our oldest kids now. This really makes the mind do a double-take!

Many happy years ahead to you both.
