McCandless Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 First off, yep, I know there was never an 1851 Colt's Navy in .44 ... but that's what Pietta calls 'em So, that's what I'm lookin' for. I'm looking for a used (read less expensive) cylinder for a Pietta .44 1851. I don't care what the finish looks like, as long as it's still usable. Iff'n you have one you're willing to part with, let me know by PM (Don't e-mail! sometimes the SASS Wire mechanism don't work, even when it says it went.) Thanks! Duc McC
Lefty Dude, SASS # 51223 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 The 1860 Cylinder will also fit, they are the same.
Harvey Mushman Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I know you asked for used, but Cabelas has new ones on sale for $49.99. Look here if you don't get any cheaper options: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Black-Powder/Black-Powder-Accessories|/pc/104792580/c/104701680/sc/104218380/Pietta-1851-Navy-44-Caliber-Spare-Cylinder/735135.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fshooting-black-powder-black-powder-accessories%2F_%2FN-1100207%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104218380%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMM%253Bcat104701680&WTz_l=SBC%3BMM%3Bcat104701680%3Bcat104218380 Merry (Smoke and Fire) Christmas! Buggy O'BenSHOOTER Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Hey McC, I see VTI sells these for $95.00 with nipples. I have two, both very usable, with nipples, $80.00 for the pair, plus shipping. But you better ask Wolfgang first. BUGGY O'BenSHOOTER SASS #48243 Gary Benschoter Gbenschoter@sbcglobal.net
Boondock Saint, #70146 Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Did you find any cylinders? I got a couple that I bought used off of gunbroker a while back. They both looked decent but I couldn't get the nipples out of one of them to clean it up. The other one cleaned up pretty good. After all that, I never used them. I decided that I preferred loading the old fashioned way to pulling the barrels to switch cylinders on the Colt clones. Let me know if you are interested in them. I'll send them too you. If you want them, the price will be cheap. If not, you can just send them back, or make pencil holders out of them. Boondock
