I saw a humorous T-shirt (I think it was supposed to be humorous) in a catalog: "Not just tough. AIR FORCE TOUGH."

Salud!

(My apologies to my Dad: 30 years, from USAAF in B-17's, through WW II, Korea and Viet Nam with C-130's. Thanks for everything, Colonel!)

That's a pretty old one, still funny.

The funniest are always based just a little in truth. After working with all three services for over 44 years, another old summary (told to me by a house staffer 30 years ago or so) that fits is:

"The three services leadership are broadly characterized by our congress and staff as:

"The three "D"s - The Dumb, The Devious, and The Defiant."

See if you can link them correctly (betcha all the vets already got them nailed), answer below.

Course we all have our own names for the congress types nowdays......

The CG hauled me out of a tight spot off the Virginia Capes one time. I was glad to see them.

I always heard (and no disrespect intended, this is a just a joke) that all you have to do is ask a fellow what time it is and how he answers will tell you what branch of the service he was in. For example, if it is 2:00 in the afternoon and the response is:

"14 hundred hours", the guy was in the Army

"2 o'clock PM" is the answer the Air Force guy gives

the Navy man will tell you it is 4 bells

and a Marine will say "The little hand is on the.....
