Great training flick from 1963 and great to see the Scooters, Phantoms, Vigi's (very nice barricade at the end), and Whales. The relationship with a with a good LSO that you trusted was very important. When things went to hell (as they had a habit of sometimes) with a bad night, low visibility, pitching deck beyond the lens stabilization limits, raining like cats and dogs, perhaps an aircraft problem thrown in to boot, and you could barely make out the the lights when you broke out to croak out your ball call (while trying not to squeeze all the black juice from the stick ), there was absolutely NOTHING like hearing the familiar calm tone of one you trusted when he said "Roger Ball, I gotcha, keep it coming"!
