Unless the shot column hit the bow. There could be things that would have caused it to open up some. Or it might have been a grazing shot. I'm wondering where the dog bought the shotgun. Quote

I suspect he was shot by one of the other hunters accidentally...at a greater distance than reported, and they let the dog take the blame. Wouldn't be the first time it's been told that way. Quote
