Grizzly Dave
Probably not a big deal to you all, but I enjoyed it. Went to my FFL to pick up a new toy and he had several things on consignment. Including a Makarov and an M1 converted to 7.62 Grizz
Oddnews SASS# 24779
There's an M-1 converted to 7.62 in one of the stores here, too. Apparently it's a former Navy piece? They want a mint for it, or at least more than I'm willing to pay.
Iron Pony
Grizz the Makarovs are kind of neat guns, bought a baikal version years ago when they were inexpensive. Got the package with military holster, magazines etc. Not sure what they tanned the leather with or what animal it came from but it smelled so bad I kept it in a ziplock bag. Biggest limiting factor on accuracy was the double action trigger pull, think its officially about "holy crap" pounds and the possibility of an AD with it has to be damn near zero. During recent clean out of stuff I found about 500 rounds of reloads and factory stuff so I may have to take it to the range for a work out. If you dont want to shoot 9X18 from what I understand you can buy a 380 bbl for it and make an easy switch.
Chantry
I have an East German Makarov, which have gotten hard to find, it is very accurate and with the exception of the heel release magazine catch and blueing, I think it is superior to the Walther PP in everyway.
