Skihi John SASS #57443 Posted November 16, 2011 Share Posted November 16, 2011 have 2 marlins on the bench,,older 44 mag, and a newer 45lc cowboy limited. The 45 has severe blow back. like getting a face full of #12s,,,even with factory loads. The old 44 will shoot anything from poofer to mags no problem. Just noticed the bolt faces totally different. The 45 has the entire top of bolt face scalloped. When and why did they start doing this? Any blow by is now directed over top and to the rear of bolt. Plus the chamber was reamed to the max diameter allowed. Shooting max loads the brass come out looking like a snake ate a rabbit. Looks like I bought another tomato stake.
