Hallen Damnation injured

My oldest child Ben (12) fell and broke his right arm last night (both bones above the wrist) It was not a Colle's fracture, but was a bit higher up in the forearm. My understanding is it is not displaced and it is splinted until the swelling goes down enough to cast it. Posse 1 from 2010 ambush and Posse 2 from 2011 have hung around with this kid and he is a keeper in my book. His shooting training is on hold and his saxophone concert performance in mid December seems highly doubtful. His attitude is good and he is taking Motrin for the pain as he said it isn't really bad (He slept with it broken and his Mom didn't realize it til this morning)

Say a prayer for complete and fast healing for my boy if you don't mind, he is handicapped enough having me for a father.

J. Mark, Them young'uns heal up faster than us old codgers. If the cast isn't too huge, he may still have enough manual dexterity to work the keys. Alto or tenor?

Prayers up for the young man......

Prayers for your son J. Mark.

For Hallen Damnation to read only-it's ok to milk this thing a little ya know. Like maybe you need a new slicked up pistol that isn't so hard to cock or boots that aren't so hard to pull on, stuff like that. I'm sure you can think of something ;)

J. Mark,

Praying for all y'all. My son broke his left arm in much the same location as you described in the 9th grade. Then his right tib fib was in 10th grade..then his right Radius in 12 grade. He seems to be none the worse for wear today (he is 38 now). He claims the full leg cast was the worst. But he also says the girls love to help when you are hurt. Please tell your son that we are praying for him to heal completely and quickly!

Your humble servant

J. Mark, you tell Ben I'm thinking of him have sent my prayers up for him.

I happen to know that a break such as his is guaranteed to improve both his shooting and sax playing!

Mark give him our best. He is a great kid. Prayers for speedy recovery and back to shooting soon.

Umm . . . Ellie, I thought we were friends? He got two new pistols and both have action jobs, he got a new rifle with an action job. He got new boots last month and has a nicer hat than any I own. He'll get some super slick new holsters as soon as the maker finishes them this week. I already spoil him in that respect. Maybe you should give him riding lessons in the spring. LOL

And Alto

A special thanks to each and every one of you.

Prayers on the way! On the same road right now myself. My 12 year old boy broke his wrist about 4 weeks ago. 4 weeks in a full arm cast, then 3 weeks in a half cast. It'll heal fast, alot faster if it was one of us that broke it. Like I said, prayers up for a speedy recovery! Take care and God bless!

Thanks and prayers up for your boy as well.

They'll be just fine. Besides, I think my boy is "accidentally" hitting his little brother with his cast.

J. Mark, you have a fine young man there. This kind of stuff is usually harder on the parents than the kids. I hope everything heals up quickly.

We are but a kid needs a little extra spoiling at a time like this. Especially when it sounds like he's being such a trooper about it. :)

Prayers Up for a speedy recovery!

Dogmeat Dad

P.S. J.Mark, go to the store and get him one of those plastic backscratcher things he can use to take care of the itches to come. Something thin and not too rigid. It will be greatly appreciated very soon!

J Mark, all our best to the lad... and I suspect he'll do right fine.

Dogmeat has an excellent suggestion - and I've found that knitting needles (they ain't sharp!) work quite well~! ;)

OH! And not to forget... he needs to have all the pards at the local shoot sign his cast!!

Well Ben got his cast put on today and I finally saw the x-rays. They were a bit worse than I knew, but the Doctor was confident that he should do just fine.

Up until now I was under the impression that it was a nondisplaced fracture when he finally got to the hospital. As I came to learn, it was displaced and they reduced the fracture before I got there last Tuesday without any painkillers or anesthesia.

Today he only winced once when they took off the splint and he held his broken arm as he walked down the hall to get the cast made without as much as an "ouch."

Thank you all for your continued thoughts
