Charlie Whiskers Posted November 7, 2011 Share Posted November 7, 2011 Seems like everyday when I read the local paper I see in the obits where another one or more,of them have passed.My Dad and 2 uncles were in that one.All 3 are gone now.Won't be long before they've all passed.I just hope the younger generation doesn't forget what all of them gave all of us. Iron in those words for all of us "younger" folks. We owe this "greatest generation" so much, as well as those who have preceeded them since the revolution, and those who follow today around the world for us. I am reminded of two true expressions, particularly relevant for this great generation where virtually everyone served in some capacity (unlike today): "Some gave all, all gave some." "Everyone who wears the uniform has written a blank check to their countrymen with the amount due unknown - up to and including their life" God Bless them.
