CA Shooters

Recommended Posts

Just saw an alert indicating that the CA Dept of Toxic Substances Control is about to release proposed regulations (the "Green Chemistry Initiave"), effectively banning an estimated 3000 "chemicals of concern" in consumer products. Draft regs will be released shortly, with comment period running out before the end of the year. The suggestion is that CA will ban products containing many of these substances at very low theshholds, often well below the limits recognized by scientists to be causally related to disease or injury.

Sounds like lead, and many other things used to have fun, may be targeted.

If I were in CA, I'd be looking for these regs and talking to my elected folks - before these regs become law. Sounds like another barrier that might lead other manufacturers to avoid the CA market.

I feel for ya, pards.

Trouble is there is no location or source to find out what is on the proposed list of chemicals/ products.

The proposed 'informal' regulations are drafted in such a way that virtually any product made could be on the list.

From what I have read if any product has any amount of any chemical on 'the list' you are in trouble....

And 'the list' has yet to be made public....

This is the start of 'Big Brother' and total government control at it's worst...

A perfect way to outlaw ALL ammunition and related products.

Exceptions are allowed, but the process will be very long and expensive, and subjective...

Strap in for this ride!

Jittery, this ain't the start... that was some time ago. This is just another major step toward total oppression.

What's next... Martial Law? :(

Let them do as they wish. I will purchase all my lead, powder, and other toxic chemicals from Az or Nv. I will be more than happy to support the communities that don't infringe on my rights.

From www.about.chemistry.com

Although we need oxygen in order to live, oxygen can be a poison. Oxygen is toxic or even lethal at high partial pressures.

Many common household chemicals are dangerous. They may be reasonably safe when used as directed, yet contain toxic chemicals or degrade over time into a more dangerous chemical. Here's a list of some of the most dangerous household chemicals, including the ingredients to watch for and the nature of the risk.

Some of the ingredients in cosmetics and personal care products are chemicals that may be hazardous to your health. Take a look at some of the ingredients to watch for and the health concerns raised by these chemicals.

From the little I read, if Ca pushes this, almost every manufacturer (of anything) will forced out of Ca.

Been happenin' for quite a while already (well over 20 years, and the pace is quickening) here in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia.

For example, once the areospace capital of the country, the last aerospace company headquarters relocated out of state last year (Northrop-Grumman). :(
