Sage Creek Gus SASS #64320
Attended the last match of the season at a local club and they definitely ended the season with a very special treat. Here is the stage. there was movement from one shooting position to the next for each firearm. 1. First handgun - five shots on three targets in Nevada Sweep. 2. Rifle - ten shots on four targets in Nevada Sweep 3. Second handgun - five shots on three targets in Nevada Sweep. 4. Shotgun - four KD targets. 5. Colt 1911 - seven shots on 4 targets in a Nevada sweep. 6. Single action Colt - five shots on a single target. 7. Browning BAR - ten shots at a stump fully automatic. One shooter was a nine year old Buckaroo who had a grin on his face we had to unhook from the back of his head. Sage Creek Gus

Coffin Filler #51633
A nine year old with a full auto BAR??? Hope it was on a bi-pod. Those things weigh about 20 lbs. Pretty sure I would not have allowed him/her to shoot it - but it depends on the "kid". Size and experience both play into it. Glad it worked out OK. Could have been different. Coffin Filler It was on a bench on sandbags. The shooter sat on a chair to shoot it. I fired all ten rounds in one burst. The barrel didn't climb at all and the recoil wasn't nearly as hard as I expected, just a steady push. The boy fired five - 2 shot bursts. Virgil Ray Hality, SASS# 37355
Wow, that sounds like fun! I would be wondering, since I have not shot a BAR, how many bullets I could expect to hit on the stump 1st time out?!

I would be wondering, since I have not shot a BAR, how many bullets I could expect to hit on the stump 1st time out?! I never got a chance to go over and look at the stump. Actually the stump was a section of log about 16 inches in diameter set up in front of a very large pile of dirt. I was too busy watching everyone shoot to see where the bullets were going. For those who are wondering, we did not count the misses with the BAR. Sage Creek Gus

How many nine year olds in our country have fired a fully automatic weapon. Of course, in the mideast it's probably pretty common. SCG
