SIESTA, SASS #21303
Does anyone out there have any factory information on bore, groove and twist for the 1894 .44 Mag. Marlin Cowboy Limited? There has been some discussion lately mentioning deep cut Ballard rifling and I have always felt that on my rifle the rifling doesn't appear to be very deep cut. Cimarron gives specs for my .44 Spl. 1873 rifle as .417 bore, .429 groove and 20" twist. The rifling appears to be much deeper on the 1873 than on the Marlin. I'm not interested in slugging the barrels as they both seem to be very accurate. I was just wondering about the Marlin specs. I would also be interested in factory specs for B,G,T for a 1980's vintage Rossi .357 1892 carbine. Siesta
The Original Lumpy Gritz
My .44 Mag. CB Limited is cut Ballard. The older(80's pre-safety)Marlin's were Micro-groove cut. Cheers, LG
SIESTA, SASS #21303
I found some information on a website that said that the .44 mag. Marlin 1894 Cowboy Ltd. has a 1:38 twist rate and .431 bore which I assume is the groove diameter. Can anyone confirm? Has anyone slugged a .44 mag. Ballard cut barrel?
