Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438
On the Interstate last weekend, and was passed by two high performance 3 wheeled vehicles (NOT Spyders from Bombardier); very low slung, two wheels front, one rear; driver in recumbent position. Passed me doing 80-85. These were not toys or backyard creations; identical except for color, and VERY nicely fabricated. Engines sounded like Japanese bikes. Anybody seen them? What are they? Who makes them? Thanks. LL

Captain Woodrow Cahill, SASS # 54363
These are kind of close => http://www.campagnamotors.com/default.aspx And this is a pretty neat looking kit => http://reversetrike.com/veloss.html
Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438
Maybe one of these? Close, Dave; but the drivers were almost fully reclined, with their legs straight out in front; much, much lower overall design. LL

Last I heard the company went bell-up in '09. My favorite 3-wheeler of all is the Morgan, made in England from 1911-1939.
Bodine
Street louge maximus? I never wanted to end up as a hood ornament on a truck, one of the reasons I gave up the two wheelers. A body never knows when it's time or how it'll happen, but I've buried too many old friends with closed-caskets and just lost the magic. It got to where every time I went out it was a white-knuckle ride for my life and it just wasn't fun anymore. HMMMmm... any Easy-Boy reclining motorsickle huh? Seldom Seen #16162
Yep, we are starting to see a lot more middle aged riders show up in the E.R. They have started riding as a way to save a few bucks on gas but lack the necessary experience to ride out of danagerous situations. I did a lot of riding in my younger days but recognize the cost of a hospital visit is to high for me.

Captain Woodrow Cahill, SASS # 54363
Harley was working on a new trike with leaning suspension, but sadly they're not going into production. Too bad -- it looked really cool => http://blog.motorcycle.com/2011/08/04/motorcycle-news/shelved-harley-davidson-penster-tilting-trike-prototypes-revealed/
