Lost Churches in Louisiana

The hurricanes that hit the Gulf Coast of our nation were devastating.

It did not spare the houses of worship in and around the area. One of

the local television stations in South Louisiana aired an interview with

a woman from New Orleans ..

The interviewer was a woman from a Boston affiliate. She asked the

woman how such total and complete devastation of the churches in the

area had affected their lives?

Without hesitation, the woman replied, "I don't know about all those

other people, But we ain't gone to Churches in years. We gits our

chicken from Popeye's"

Now you understand how we got our President.

After working maintenence at Tysons Sedalia, MO plant for three weeks I quit. Chickens do NOT have nuggets, nor do they make POPCORN!!!

The only chicken we eat is made here at home from fryers we buy from the neighbor or raise ourselves.

You don't wanna know.

Working on the brood house side when I was a kid, up to shipping chickens and turkeys off to the plant, I am solidly of the opinion that both critters qualify as vegetarian fare because they have the same brainpower as vegetables!

Church's sure ain't what it used to be, but the last time I ate at Popeye's (which I used to like) it was downright pathetic. I've shot quail bigger than the "chicken" I got. That was indeed probably the LAST TIME.

As far as the other goes, a hurricane may destroy the bricks and mortar, but it can't destroy a church!

My 2 cents,

JHC (what prefers Grandy's for fried chicken unless my wife cooked it)

Back YEARS ago when I used to live in Louisiana and Popeye's was just a local brand it was pretty good. Now that its gone national and been bought and sold a few times the quality just isn't what it used to be. Me and the misses do occasionally sneak in a local Popeye's and get some dirty rice when we don't have time to do "home" cooking Kajun style!
