Dutch Styer

Recommended Posts

My FIL sent the Styer (6.5x54) home from WW11. I have shot surplus ammo through it and it does fine. I would like a translation of the sticker on the ammo box.

6,5mm Patronen (h)

1943 am 2

Nz. Gew. Bl. P. (2.2.0,45) rtl 1942/U1

Ladungsgewicht: 2,35

Patrh.:(St) 1943 am 17 Gesch.: 1942 am 6

Zdh. 88: 1942 dnf 704

large red print over all

Fur MG

Thanks TF

Using a German to English translator on the computer I got;

6.5 MM cartridges (h)

1943 on 2 Ro.

Gew. Bl. Fr. (2.2.0,45 ) RTL 1942/U1

load: 2.35 Patrh. : (St) in 1943, 17 business.: 1942 on 6

Zdh. 88: 1942 dnf 704

Doesn't help much does it?

p.s. I found a marking that translated to Made in Japan. ^_^

I'm wondering if the "Fur MG" indicates it's a machinegun load... and likely hotter than regular rifle ammunition.

"For Machine Gun" would be "Für Maschinengewehr" in German
