Yesterday, on what would have been Buddy Hollys 75th birthday, he received his star on Hollywoods walk of fame.
Present were his wife, Maria Elena, actor Gary Busey, and others.

Not many people realize, that the title for his first hit "That'll Be The Day" was taken from a line John Wayne says in the movie 'The Searchers". Great line - great song.

The above song is not one of his more well known tunes, but one of my favorites.
What are some of your favorite lesser known Buddy Holly songs from before "The Day The Music Died".

Do you remember baby,

Last September,

how you,

held me tight,

each and every night

Well,Golly Gee,

what have you done to me

Well I guess it doesn't matter any more.

Rave On is another great one

Every day my love is gettin' closer

Goin faster than a roller coaster

I was a senior in High School in 1959. Four of us pooled our resources and drove from Mlnneapolis to Mason city to see the crash site. A sad day. Miss The Big Bopper, too.
