Texas Jim Henry, SASS #20616
I had just the opposite situation (revolver came as a .44 Special and I wanted a .44-40 cylinder for it). Acquired a cylinder from Colt and had it fitted locally. It was close to a drop-in, but not quite. Lot cheaper than having to send your gun to Colt, provided they are willing to ship the cylinder to you. Like Bitteroot Jake said, give them a shout.
