A sheriff in Minnesota arrested a man who allegedly tried to break into his home last week, The Winona Daily News reports. Winona County Sheriff David Brand got a call from his wife on Thursday informing him that a man was trying to break into their home, so the lawman, who was just a few blocks away, rushed back to his house, The Associated Press said. The lawman allegedly tackled suspect John Brian Clennon, 37, and restrained him until additional police arrived. If the would-be thief had been more observant, he might have thought twice about the house he targeted. Brand told The Daily News that the suspect must have walked past his squad car, which was parked in the driveway, to grab a hammer from the cop's garage before smashing a window.
