Professor Tull, SASS #66742
It is early on a Saturday afternoon. You and a couple of buddies pedal down to the local movie theater and meet up with a couple of hundred of your closest friends. You are prepared to watch Newsreels, cartoons, a western, and the theaters feature film.BUT - sandwiched between the cartoons and the western is the MOST important item of all - the next chapter of the Serial/Chapter Movie ! ! ! Flash Gordon - Undersea Kingdom - Flying G-Men - Green Hornet - Phantom Empire - Radar Men From The Moon - and The Shadow [above clip - only time I can remember Victor Jory being a 'good' guy].And some of the actors that became major stars, that got their starts in Serials - Clayton Moore, Leonard Nimoy, Charles Bronson.Rocket ships, death rays, robots, personal zepplins, Atlantis, ray guns, Juggernaut tanks, and a mad man trying to control the world. An excellent way to spend ones allowance on a Saturday afternoon.TULL

Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967
Those were soooo cool we didn't even notice how corny they were! Why... I even remember the Batman and Robin serials - where the first "Batmobile" was a stock '49 Mercury! Batmobile
Marshal Dan Troop 70448
Considered by many one of the finest is "Fighting Devil Dogs", had everything. From a Flying wing, espionage, and the un-masking of the villian at the end, the Lightning. There are also a lot of good westerns serials, Buck Jones starring in 3 of them.
