Well, Seldom and I can at least agree on the Jack Russell Terriers............I note that the third location he has listed speaks volumes. Perhaps he just enjoys pulling folks' chains. ;)

Just remember I was shooting when you were still learning which end of the barrel the bullet came out of. It would be great if this rifle makes it to market But does anyone really think it can be made anywhere near the Uberti prices? Also by the time the Lawyers get through with the legal mumbo jumbo the gun will look like those Ugly Henry made. rifles

Perhaps you were...but you haven't shot CAS in ages...so all your statement really says is that you are old.

Why is it so hard to just simply wish Redwing the best...and then shutup?!

I hope they can pull it off.

I have a good friend who is a gunsmtih specializing in Cowboy Action firearms. He says the Uberti firearms have had a large decrease in quality since Beretta took them over. He's ready to give up purchasing any Uberti firearms and is looking for other manufacturers.

SCG

Beretta only bought Uberti. They didn't take over production. Uberti and it's employees still produce the guns. Been there done that seen them.

This is in response to all the input here. This statement is from the Redwing Gunworks group, manufacturer of the USA MADE 1873. First and foremost, as a team we must give all the GLORY to GOD. Second, we would like to thank all those who know and support us. We have went out of our way to avoid conflict with any existing companies, as that is not our goal. The team was adamant about building our own alternative to the shortstroke kit to avoid infringing on any intellectual property rights currently on the market. As far as problems with lawyers, we have been in constant contact with the ATF and are in compliance with all regulations. We have had a tremendous amount of help and input from the SASS community across this nataion and Canada and we respect that. We were asked "if you are going to copy one make it the right one," so we borrowed an original to take apart and map completely. Some very respected shooters and Gunsmiths in the industy have helped us to avoid some of the pit falls that have been mentioned here and some that have not. We realize we are dealing with a "LEGEND" and our goal is to try our best to do it justice, not change the industry with a product you can't find parts for.

The team here at Redwing Gunworks is comprised of basically four people: Tom "Redwing" and Karen Hewitt of "Redwing Trading Co." who most of you may know; and Sonny and Kathy Porter of "Autolok Industries," a CNC manufacturer. Some of our team were members of an organization that manufactured rifles back in the mid to late '80's. That team went from 26 to 1,000 rifles per month, so this team is painfully aware of the task in front of us and technically capable of rising to the task.

Our country is in trouble and someone has to do something. We here at Redwing Gunworks are just trying to do our part. Instead of waiting around for the government to do something, we decided to start our own economic stimulus package.

Redwing has said on more than one occasion that this gun needs to be the best it can be. Our goal is to provide a gun that measures up to those expectations. Our collective companies have always abided by the principal "if you are not happy with your purchase we will make it right no matter what."

If you ever have an occasion to visit Redwing and Karen as they travel to the shoots, feel free to ask them anything about this project. Soon they will be carrying the 1873. We only ask you show your respect and appreciation for God, our American Veterans, and love for the good ole USA.
