Question On Holster Rig For New Masonic Brother

Recommended Posts

Pards

There's a new Masonic brother about to be raised and his family is looking for a carved holster rig for him with Masonic emblems tastefully carved.

Any suggestions on who might be a good leather guy near West Virginia that we could refer 'um?

Thanks/'Nooga

Hey Nooga, I shoot with a Brother that has square and compass in his gun grips that are really neat but don't know of a leather maker but I have used a fellow up north that makes nice custom rigs that you could contact. I bet if anyone could make it, he could. G and J...

There is a decent group of leather workers on the CAS City Leather Forum, you might check with them. It would seem that the best place to look for a Roman would be in Rome. http://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php/board,57.0.html

I have a pard who is carving a set of ivory grips for a Masonic brother.

His website is www.cowboycarvings.com

Does great work at reasonable prices.

Tell him I said congrats!

Even if I don't know where to send him for that carved leather. You might ask El Paso Saddlery, though; I am about to post a nice thread about them.

Brother Nooga, tell them to be careful when ordering the square & compasses on anything from a non Mason. Some don't know how to do it right. I've seen stuff with the square elevated above the points of the compasses. Wrong for a MM. If their idea to have something made proves to be a bit beyond their budget suggest they take a look at Gripmaker's imitation Ivory Masonic grips. http://www.gripmaker.com/newdesigns/masonic.htm Larry is a SASS member and makes them in SAA style for Rugers, Colts & Clones as well as 1911s. http://www.gripmaker.com/1911%20Grips/masonic.htm I was instrumental in getting him to add them to his lineup & bought the first two pair he made & have them on my pair of USFA SAAs.

If they'll contact me when he's raised, (or have him contact me), I'll send him his first Masonic Cowboy Shootist lapel pin

I found a pair on E-bay. Got them for $49. Gave them to the Brother who was WM when I was raised.

Another option: I have a DeSantis belt with Masonic conchos added.

These are what I have.
