Recommended Posts

This year they have Fried Butter on a stick. It's a frozen cube of butter dipped in honey flavored batter and then fried.

What your favorite?

Ta my thinkin it's hard ta beat a corn dog and funnel cake fer a meal.

At the Sonoma Co. Fair I would usually head to the Mexican section and get some tacos de carnias or de lengua. For a quick snack, garlic fries. To cool off, a shaved ice or snow cone.

Most of the rest of the stuff at a fair is just too greasy for me.

We're going to the Fair tomorrow. :D:D There is a really good BBQ place that has wonderful tri-tip sandwiches and roasted corn on the cob. I also like the caramel corn. I think I'll skip breakfast..... :P .

Spent the whole day at the fair. 3 meals....

Breakfast: Corndog and a Lemonade

Lunch: Porkchop on a stick, funnel cake and a sarsaparilla.

(Took a afternoon break in the micro brewery sample tent)

Snack: tried the fried butter... it was different.

Supper: BBQ ribs with cowboy beans and a deep fried Milky Way candy bar.

My favorite sooo far is the deep fried Milky Way candy bar!!

I know it's not classic Fair, but I do kind of like banana splits.

Locally a big Methodist church has a homemade pie shop at the state fair. I usually have a big slice of Dutch Apple pie topped with French Custard ice cream and a cup of fresh coffee. However there's nothing those Methodist ladies serve I wouldn't gladly eat. Their strawberry/rhubarb pie is my second favorite.

Believe it or not, my favorite carnival food is baklava. For the past several years there has been a trailer selling baklava at the fair. That is the only time one can find such things in this podunk town, though I suppose in this day one could order off the internet.
