Prairie Dawg, SASS #50329
Hi: I know of 3 distinct generations of Uberti cowboy guns. The really old ones -- I had a '66 made in the 70s that was a 1st generation. When did they start making the 2nd generation '66s and '73s? Then, in the mid-late 90s, I think they changed things up again to make the 3rd generation. If anyone knows the approxiate change-over dates, I would appreciate knowing them Thanks in advance. --Dawg
Colorado Coffinmaker
Hey Dawg, Sorry 'bout that. There aren't any actual "change over" dates, nor 1st, 2d, or 3rd generations. The changes to Uberti guns was and is piecemeal. There have actually been so many small changes that one cannot really call them "generations." The most recent change was to the Breach Block/Extension Rod attachment, but there were two different changes to the retaining pin before that. I know this doesn't help answer your question, but, there just isn't a "pat" answer. Too many changes to call them "generations." Just progressive improvements ..... well except for the ladle on the '66. That was no improvement. Coffinmaker
