SPF - Custom Made Buscadaro Rig & Shotgun Belt

Recommended Posts

This custom rig was made a couple of years ago but little worn after I made one that matched my Roy Rogers rig from when I was 10. Not new but shows very little wear.

A buscadero rig, black with tan accents. Main belt has border tooling with a centered contrasting pattern that includes a set of western shot glasses. The end straps have basket-weave stamping and are dyed to match the center tooling. Holsters are smooth with the same border tooling as on the belt and basket-weave stamping on the tan skirt straps. Two other stamps decorate the holsters, a small fish on top and small set of shot-glasses on the bottom.

(5) 38 cal bullet loops are mounted to the rear of the right holster and a single 38 cal loop is part of the right front strap. (4) silver Texas Ranger style star conchos are found on the straps and holsters. The belt is 3” wide and 50” long. There are (10) holes in the right strap allowing a measurement from about 44.25 to 48.75 inches. (Don’t check your pant size, measure around where the rig will ride to check if this fits you.) Finally, the leather used was heavy duty and reinforced where the holsters hang from the belt with a second layer glued and then stitched into place. The holsters were wet molded with Ruger New Model Vaqueros (5.5”). All work was custom done by hand with no machine processing. Chicago screws were used so the holsters can be removed from the belt if needed.

Shotgun belt was made to match. It repeats the border tooling along the edges and has basket-weave stamping on the ends. (2) matching conchos were used. The loops are one continous leather strip passing through slits in the belt and silver rivets used for strength. A second heavy duty layer was glued to the back to protect the loops where they and mounting rivets come through. Width is 2.5” and there are (8) holes providing a measurement from 43.5 to 47 inches. There are (13) notched loops for 12 gauge shells.

Badge holder repeats the edge stamping and is made to fit over the shotgun belt. It snaps open / shut to allow for easy badge swapping and placement / removal on your belt.

Prices are $150 for the rig, plus $10 shipping and ins; $75 for the shotgun belt, plus $5 shipping; and $25 for the badge holder. While they are for sale individually, I’ll sell the complete set for $210, shipped with insurance.

Thank you for looking.

Thanks Professor. I'll send ya a note. It will come from akaDSOR@aol.com. The spur straps are gone but the matching boots are available if you can handle 9 EE. (They are available even if ya can't but that wouldn't matter much.)

Hugh, you should have jumped all over this. Might well have fit around the barrel.
