Trigger Mike
my 91/30 upper hand guard keeps moving forward as I shoot. The band does as well. I think the band spring needs replacing but want a second opinion. Is that the only possible solution?

Capt. James H. Callahan
Baling wire. If ya can't fix something with baling wire might as well scrap it. JHC
Utah Bob #35998
Right. The common field solution is simply to bend the spring a tad. You can also try an application of thick Borscht and let it harden into plaster-like consistency. That's a better use than eating it in my opinion.
