Taylor's Spencer Rifles & Carbives

Happy with my 56-50, HOWEVER... the barrel came loose in the middle of a match one time, and I've read about others that did the same. I just kept pressure in the right direction on the fore end and shot it the rest of the match, then cleaned it up good when I got home and put it back on with blue Loktite.

When I was looking for a Spencer, I had .44-40 or .44 Russian in mind due to the increased capacity, but several people on various boards would tell me, "Why have a Spencer in anything other than the original chambering?" I went with the 56-50 and have never regretted it... except when I lose a piece of brass... and occasionally having to show a match director that the 56-50 is specifically allowed as a main match gun.
