Alpo Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I just found an old boarding pass I had been using as a bookmark, and noticed it has a rubber stamp on it that I don't recall ever seeing on any other boarding pass. Wondered if maybe someone has an idea of why. It is stamped "TSA SCREENED @ PFN". PFN is the airport I flew out of. This was a job-related AOG flight. Ticket was bought about 6 hours before I got on the plane. Because the ticket was bought that close to flight time, I got patted down. Happened all the time, back then. I flew out "tourist", but when I changed planes in Memphis, the company had upgraded me to First Class (first and only time I've ever flown First). Now, I can think of several reasons for the stamp. Changing planes. Changing airlines. Upgrading seat. Ticket bought too recently. Pistol in luggage. That's the way they did things in 2005. But, as I said, although I flew a lot, and changed planes a lot, and changed airlines a lot, I never saw that stamp before. This ticket was waiting for me at the gate, in Memphis, when I went to check in. Maybe because it was printed in Memphis, instead of PFN? So, any thoughts?
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Maybe you just look suspicious, Pulp.
Grizzly Dave Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I've had them stamp my boarding pass after checking my documents.
Utah Bob #35998 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 PFN does not stand for the airport. It means Patdown For Now, Your lucky it wasn't stamped BCS - Body Cavity Search!

It says you screened the TSA at Bay County Airport. So did they pass?
Grizzly Dave Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Many years ago I worked for TSA. Of course not the transportation security admin or whatever it stands for. The TSA I worked for was Tom Scurry Associates. Old Tom was a character, had a house in the mountains and like to sunbathe in the nude. One time he fell asleep... somehow he didn't find it as funny as we did when he came back to work.
